INSPIRE FAQs

Q: What goes on during session?

INSPIRE sessions uses an evidence-based curriculum that highlights various topics in each session.

  • Session 1: Rapport Building, Pros and Cons, etc

  • Session 2: Triggers for use and alternatives, social support and goal setting

  • Session 3: Avoiding Use Situations, Five Step plan, Emergency Plan, Next Steps

It can be scary meeting people for the first time but we want everyone to feel safe and supported, the first session involves getting to know each other and just chatting about what you like and the things you like to do. We also provide yummy snacks!

Q: Who Conducts INSPIRE Sessions?

We currently have one full time staff member who is trained on brief intervention along with 1 supporting intern.

Q: Where do Sessions take place?

Sessions take place at each campus in JUHSD (except Thornton) each school site has a designated room for sessions to take place.

Q: Can I Sign up for sessions even if I'm not a JUHSD student?

At this time, we do not have the capacity for outside referrals, but we hope to provide INSPIRE for all community members in the future.
